Always Seeking Sustainability

The Pastificio di Chiavenna is deeply rooted in the Valchiavenna region, a place where the purity of the air and spring waters blends with an uncompromising dedication to the quality of raw materials. This synergy between nature and expertise allows us to produce pasta that not only meets the health and well-being demands of modern consumers but also maintains an unbreakable bond with tradition and the territory.

Buckwheat and rye, historically grown also in the Alpine valleys and the province of Sondrio, are the essence of our business philosophy. These authentic ingredients give life to our product lines, ranging from fusilli to penne, from lasagne to fidelin, and of course, the renowned Pizzoccheri della Valtellina PGI.

Sustainability, Ethics, and Growth at the Heart of Tradition

Our Ethical Policy is the compass that guides every action we take: a work environment based on respect, honesty, and fairness. We firmly adhere to the ETI Ethical Code, ensuring an approach that excludes inhumane practices and promotes ethical work, as evidenced by our SEDEX membership since 2008.

In 2005, we took a decisive step towards environmental sustainability by choosing to purchase green energy. This clean and renewable energy, sourced from the hydroelectric plants of Valtellina, confirms our commitment to a more sustainable future.

Since 2008, the Pastificio di Chiavenna is proudly registered with SEDEX (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange). This membership testifies our commitment to ensuring that every aspect of our work is conducted ethically and responsibly, strengthening our bond with stakeholders and demonstrating our dedication not only to product quality but also to the well-being of people and the environment.

Today, the Pastificio di Chiavenna represents a happy balance between respect for traditions, attention to the health and well-being of consumers, and a strong commitment to sustainable innovation and work ethics. With roots deeply embedded and an eye to the future, we continue to bring the best of Italian culinary tradition to your table, respecting the environment and the community.

100% green energy

Chiavenna: An Artistic and Cultural Treasure in the Heart of Valchiavenna

Located near the Swiss border and crossed by the Mera river, Chiavenna is a gem nestled in the valley of the same name. This city is renowned for its artistic and cultural beauties, its rich culinary tradition, and a relaxed way of life, typical of Slow Cities. Probably founded by the Etruscans, it became a renowned Roman station and trading point between Italy and Europe.

Chiavenna charms with its hidden corners and views, enchanting visitors at every step. A walk through its historic center, crossing the bridge over the Mera, offers breathtaking views that will remain etched in memory. Nearby, in Piuro, are the spectacular Acquafraggia Falls, admired even by Leonardo da Vinci. These falls, visible from the road, are considered the most important natural monument of Valchiavenna.

No less majestic is the Marmitte dei Giganti Park, with its impressive rock formations created by water erosion, and the Pian di Spagna Nature Reserve, a wetland rich in biodiversity, an ideal habitat for numerous species of migratory birds. During a visit to Chiavenna, it is essential to explore the many historic palaces and museums that adorn this fascinating location.

In the heart of Valchiavenna, the Pastificio di Chiavenna stands in an idyllic views among breathtaking Alpine panoramas, a true seal of quality for its products.
