Courmayeur Cup goes to Milan: Conegliano beaten 3-1
Numia Vero Volley Milano win the third edition of the Courmayeur Cup. At the Courmayeur Sport Center, Gianlorenzo Blengini's side beat Prosecco Doc A. Carraro Imoco Conegliano 3-1 in the final of the two-day event in the Aosta Valley, with set scores of 25-17, 15-25, 25-23, 25-23.
It is the season's first trophy for the team in red and blue, and Blengini's first win on the Milan bench. After Conegliano levelled in the second set, Milan changed pace in the third and closed the fourth with a two-point margin, staying clinical in the key moments.
Final MVP was libero Eleonora Fersino, decisive with the defence that let Numia rebuild each rally. Captain Paola Egonu finished on 30 points, ten of them in the first set; Hena Kurtagić (12), Rebecca Piva (12) and Khalia Lanier (10) also reached double figures.
«What matters is to keep showing this desire to move forward without losing confidence when something goes wrong,» said Blengini.
The Courmayeur Cup comes four days after the presentation of the team and the new jerseys, held on 23 September in the Sala delle Colonne di Banco BPM in Milan. Moro Pasta is a Club Partner of the Vero Volley Consortium for the 2026/2027 season.
Next up is the LVF A1 Fineco opener: Firenze visit the Allianz Cloud on Saturday 3 October at 20:30.
